It’s mystical, magical and a key ingredient in our latest Limited Edition Granola: It’s Matcha!

When we started conversations with singer, songwriter and granola connoisseur Jason Mraz about what ingredients he’d like to feature in a collaborative granola, matcha quickly rose to the top of the list.

For the uninitiated, matcha is a powdered green tea with a vibrant color made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Matcha has a long history in Japanese tea ceremonies and is now loved worldwide for its unique flavor and high antioxidant content.

In the creation of this Limited Edition recipe, our test kitchen sampled many varieties of matcha, producing small batch after batch of granola, striving for a final product with the perfect balance of smooth, earthy flavor without a “grassy” taste or bitter finish. Navitas Organics® Matcha Powder was the winning variety by far.
