What is SQF and Why Does It Matter?

We are thrilled to announce Michele’s Granola has achieved SQF certification!

Most of you are probably asking, what the heck does that mean, and why should I care?

Long story short: SQF certification should give you utmost confidence in Michele's Granola's commitment to safety and quality.

SQF stands for Safe Quality Food, and the certification is one of the most rigorous in food manufacturing. Baking quality products in a safe way has always been at the heart of our operation, and achieving third-party validation of that commitment was a natural next step in our growth.

The certification itself is a wonderful accomplishment, but the real achievement is that Michele’s Granola has a sound, tested food safety program that protects our team members, our company and YOU, our customers.

The Food Marketing Institute (FMI) administers the SQF Program, “a rigorous and credible food safety and quality program that is recognized by retailers, brand owners, and food service providers world-wide. Recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), the SQF family of food safety and quality codes are designed to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements for all sectors of the food supply chain,” per FMI and the SQF Initiative. We welcome you to learn more from the SQF Institute
