Michele’s Granola Expands Partnership with MOM’s Organic Market
Michele’s Granola bakes exclusive varieties for MOM’s, and MOM’s matches Michele’s charitable giving.


Timonium, MD (August 3, 2018) – Michele’s Granola, a Baltimore-based small-batch granola bakery, has expanded its partnership with regional natural food chain MOM’s Organic Market on two fronts: Michele’s Granola is baking an exclusive line of products for the retailer, and MOM’s Organic Market will match the bakery’s charitable donations based on sales of these co-branded products.

 Michele Tsucalas founded Michele’s Granola in 2006, baking a granola cereal free from wheat, dairy, soy, eggs and GMO ingredients, and without high fructose corn syrup, trans-fats or artificial ingredients. In 2007, MOM’s Organic Market brought the handmade cereals into its stores, and a decade later, as a result of strong sales, asked the bakery to create an exclusive variety. The companies debuted two flavors in fall 2017: Almond Butter and Mocha Coconut granola, each bearing a co-branded label and retailing for $5.99 each.

Tsucalas created the charitable giving program Give One for Good Food® in 2013, through which Michele’s Granola donates 1% of the company’s gross sales, plus employer-paid volunteer hours, to nonprofit organizations leading the way towards a healthier, more equitable food system. To date, Michele’s Granola has donated $100,000 through this initiative, including over $700 on the sales of the exclusive MOM’s products. MOM’s has agreed to match Michele’s charitable contribution on sales of the co-branded products with an additional 1% donation, which is projected to be $1,250 by the end of 2018.

Sales of the co-branded varieties in MOM’s stores have out-performed several products in Michele’s standard line. These products will be sold exclusively by MOM’s through 2018.
